Covid-19 Watch: 4,503 new cases, ten deaths reported, says Health Ministry
PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 4,503 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (July 27), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 4,664,213 since the pandemic began.
The Health Ministry’s CovidNow portal reported that 4,497 of Wednesday’s new Covid-19 cases were local transmissions, while there were 6 imported infections.
Malaysia’s overall ICU utilization rate stood at 62.0%, with Covid-19 patients accounting for 15.8% of the ICU utilization rate.
According to the Health Ministry’s GitHub data repository, Malaysia recorded 10 deaths due to Covid-19 on Wednesday, including four classified as “brought-in-dead” (BID).
This brings the total number of deaths due to Covid-19 in Malaysia to 35,942 since the pandemic began.
Five of Wednesday’s Covid-19 deaths were reported in Perak and another three in Selangor while Penang and Pahang recorded one fatality each.
