KUALA LUMPUR: There are currently 258,985 active Covid-19 cases in the country, the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website reported.
Of the total, 245,875 cases or 94.9 per cent are placed under home quarantine, 5,055 (two per cent) at Integrated Quarantine and Treatment Centres; and 7,783 others (three per cent) are hospitalised.
There were 449 hospital admissions in the Klang Valley yesterday, with the hospital bed utilisation rate currently at 62.7 per cent.
Selangor recorded the highest number of daily admissions at 310 (bed utilisation rate in the state currently at 73.9 per cent), while Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya registered 106 and 33 new admissions, respectively.
Other states also reported new hospital admissions yesterday, namely, Johor (395), Kedah (123), Kelantan (144), Melaka (29), Negri Sembilan (76), Pahang (103), Perak (192), Perlis (34), Penang (87), Sabah (262), Sarawak (93), Terengganu (54) and Labuan (four).
Four more Covid-19 clusters were detected yesterday, with a total 500 clusters currently active.
Malaysia’s Covid-19 death toll stands at 32,390, with 43 more fatalities recorded yesterday.
The ministry reported 13 brought-in-dead (BID) cases, bringing the tally to 6,586.
On Covid-19 vaccinations, a total 564,220 children aged 5 to 11 years have received the first vaccine dose under the Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids) as of yesterday.
Meanwhile, a total 2,799,132 adolescents aged 12 to 17 (90 per cent) have completed their vaccination, while 2,886,655 or 92.8 per cent have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
The website reported a total 14,078,456 adults or 59.8 per cent, of the group have received their booster dose as of yesterday.
A total 22,945,040 adults (97.5 per cent) have completed their vaccinations while 98.7 per cent or 23,222,810 individuals have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
Yesterday, a total 137,307 Covid-19 vaccine doses were administered, with 52,804 of them being the first dose, 1,024 second and 83,479 as booster doses, bringing the total number of vaccine doses administered under the Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme to 66,289,382.
