Covid-19: ‘Uncle Kentang’ Down with Category 4 Infection, Warded at Hospital Serdang

PETALING JAYA: Popular social activist Kuan Chee Heng, fondly known as Uncle Kentang, is down with a Category 4 Covid-19 infection and has been warded at Serdang Hospital.

Kuan posted on Facebook about his condition Monday (Feb 7) and apologised for not being able to attend to calls.

“Sorry, my phones will be switched off for seven days. Now I am in Serdang Hospital.

“The office will be closed for four days starting today (Feb7). Our hotline will be shut down except for ambulance services.

“We will increase the Covid Ambulance to two more units as many people are getting Covid,” he said in his post.

Kuan also reminded people to stay safe, wear their masks and avoid partying.

Many of his followers were shocked to hear the news and prayed for his speedy recovery.

Despite his condition, it would seem that his charitable work continues as two Facebook postings have been updated on cases involving a homeless man sleeping in front of a laundromat and an update on “Uncle Martin”, who is in hospital.

In his post on Monday, Kuan said those who wish to seek help on Covid-19 may call 012-2423360. For the ambulance service, they should call 011-55052148.
