40 Covid-19 Deaths Reported

PETALING JAYA: The health ministry reported 40 Covid-19 deaths yesterday, according to its GitHub database.

Of the total, eight were classified as brought-in-dead (BID). The death toll now stands at 30,280.

Most of the fatalities were recorded in Perak with six deaths, followed by Selangor (5), Terengganu (5), Kelantan (5), Johor (3), Penang (3), Pahang (3), Kuala Lumpur (2), Sabah (2), Sarawak (2), Melaka (1), Kedah (1), Negeri Sembilan (1) and Perlis (1).

There were no deaths reported in Labuan and Putrajaya.

As of midnight, there were 67,252 active cases including 510 in intensive care units (ICU), 258 of whom require respiratory assistance.

There were also 5,352 recoveries reported.

The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 2,619,577.
