Covid-19: 76 New Cases Involving New Variants Identified, Says Health Ministry

PETALING JAYA: A total of 76 new cases involving new Covid-19 variants have been identified, says the Health Ministry.

It said that from July 1 to Tuesday (July 13), 48 cases of the Beta or B.1.351 variant were identified, adding that 27 cases of the Delta or B.1.617.2 variant were also identified in the same period.

In a tweet on its official account on Wednesday (July 14), it added that one case of the Theta or P.3 variant was also identified.

“Only one case of the Beta variant was an imported case, while the remainder are local cases,” said the Ministry.
