21 New Covid-19 Clusters, Most Linked To Workplaces, Community

PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has detected 21 new Covid-19 clusters in the past 24 hours, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.

In a statement, he said 11 of them were workplace clusters, nine were community clusters and one was linked to a detention centre.

The clusters were detected in Kuala Lumpur, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Perak, Kedah, Sabah, Johor, Kelantan, Selangor, Sarawak and Terengganu.

Kuala Lumpur

  • Damanlela 2 construction site: a cluster linked to construction workers. It involves Kepong. 2,225 screened, 630 positive.
  • Bukit Kiara: a workplace cluster linked to a recreational centre. It involves Kepong. The index case was detected on June 27. 38 screened, 16 positive.
  • Pasar Razak Mansion: a workplace cluster linked to a market. It involves Lembah Pantai and Cheras. The index case was detected on June 30. 67 screened, 12 positive.

Kelantan

  • Jalan KK 6/2 Kubang Kerian: a workplace cluster linked to a market. It involves Kota Bharu. The index case was detected on July 2. 27 screened, 8 positive.
  • Kampung Gong Kulim Tengah: a community cluster linked to a funeral. It involves Pasir Puteh, Bachok and Besut. The index case was detected on July 4. 92 screened, 16 positive.
  • Kampung Perwira: a community cluster. It involves Tanah Merah. The index case was detected on July 1. 19 screened, 11 positive.

Selangor

  • Jalan Sempaka Ampang: a workplace cluster linked to a market. It involves Hulu Langat. 84 screened, 25 positive.
  • Parit Sebelas: a community cluster. It involves Sabak Bernam. The index case was detected on June 30. 40 screened, 18 positive.
  • Pagar Langat: a cluster linked to a detention centre. It involves Kuala Langat. 30 screened, 13 positive.

Johor

  • Batu Tiga Bakri: a workplace cluster linked to a factory. It involves Muar. 57 screened, 19 positive.
  • Panjang Sari: a community cluster. It involves Muar. The index case was detected on July 4. 41 screened, 17 positive.
  • Jalan Kolam Ikan Kluang: a community cluster. It involves Kluang. The index case was detected on July 4. 26 screened, 22 positive.

Penang

  • Industri Perai Lima: a workplace cluster linked to a factory in Lorong Perusahaan Baru 2. It involves Seberang Perai Tengah, Seberang Perai Selatan, Seberang Perai Utara (all in Penang); Kerian, and Larut, Matang and Selama (Perak); and Baling, Bandar Baharu, Kota Setar, Kuala Muda, Kulim, Padang Terap, Pendang and Yan (Kedah). 3,860 screened, 182 positive.
  • Jalan Perusahaan Prai: a workplace cluster linked to a factory. It involves Seberang Perai Tengah. 26 screened, 6 positive.

Perak

  • Jalan Baldwin Tiga: a workplace cluster linked to a market. It involves Batang Padang and Kampar. The index case was detected on July 1. 294 screened, 39 positive.
  • Pondok Tanjung: a community cluster. It involves Kerian, and the district of Larut, Matang and Selama (LMS). The index case was detected on July 2. 26 screened, 17 positive.

Sarawak

  • Jalan Sagang: a community cluster. It involves Bau. The index case was detected on June 21. 55 screened, 30 positive.

  • Kampung Kerpal: a community cluster. It involves Rompin. The index case was detected on June 4. 268 screened, nine positive.

Sabah

  • Agora Borneo: a workplace cluster linked to a market in Jalan Sulaman. It involves Kota Kinabalu. The index case was detected on July 3. 133 screened, 26 positive.
