BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, June 28 (Bornei Bulletin/ANN): Some 76, 471 people in Brunei had been inoculated under the National Covid-19 Vaccination Programme by June 26, with 63, 432 having received the first dose and 13, 039 their second dose.
Brunei-Muara District has the highest number of vaccination (50, 749), followed by Belait District (10, 608), Tutong District (10, 115) and Temburong District (4, 999).
The Ministry of Health (MoH) urged eligible individuals in phases one and two of the vaccination programme to get the jab.
The first phase is for frontliners, senior citizens and students going abroad for studies while phase two is for teachers, childcare staff and adults with chronic disease.
Potential recipients are advised to book vaccination slots through BruHealth app.
Meanwhile, Brunei recorded no new Covid-19 cases yesterday keeping the national tally of confirmed cases at 259.
The country recorded no local transmissions of the virus for 417 days. Ten active Covid-19 cases are receiving treatment at National Isolation Centre in Tutong District.
Some 698 individuals are undergoing mandatory self-isolation at government monitoring centres after arriving from abroad while 20, 610 have completed their stint since March 2020.
The MoH obtained 365 samples for testing for the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the past 24 hours and carried out 139, 768 tests since January 2020.
In its breakdown of Covid-19 cases in the country, healthinfo.gov.bn revealed that there have been 223 cases in Brunei-Muara District, 30 in Belait District and six in Tutong District. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
