PETALING JAYA: Over 150, 000 Covid-19 vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday (Jun 8), the highest daily vaccination rate for Malaysia since the national immunisation programme started in February, says Khairy Jamaluddin.
The National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister said that the continuous ramping up of capacity in the Klang Valley will drive up daily numbers.
“The key now is to ensure we hit this consistently as we move towards 200, 000 (doses) per day, ” said the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee (JKJAV) co-chair in a Twitter post on Wednesday (June 9).
According to data from the JKJAV, Malaysia dispensed a total of 151, 309 doses on Tuesday (Jun 8), with 105, 722 people receiving first doses and the remaining 45, 587 people receiving their second dose.
Malaysia – which has a population of 32 million – has inoculated a total of 3, 790, 121 people as of Tuesday (Jun 8) with 1, 180, 744 people having received both doses.
