Record High 27 New Covid-19 Clusters, Mostly Involving Workplaces

PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has detected a record high 27 new Covid-19 clusters in the past 24 hours, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.

The previous high was 25 clusters yesterday.

In a statement, he said 13 of them were workplace clusters, eight were community clusters, three were religious clusters, two involved educational institutions and the remaining one was linked to a high-risk group.

The clusters were detected in Selangor, Sarawak, Kelantan, Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Perak and Terengganu.

Johor

  • Jalan NIP Dua: a workplace cluster linked to a service company. It involves Johor Bahru. 23 screened, 20 positive.
  • Jalan Suka Ria: a workplace cluster linked to a supermarket. It involves Johor Bahru and Kluang. The index case was detected on May 30. 83 screened, 10 positive.
  • Jalan Dataran Larkin Tiga: a workplace cluster linked to an accommodation. It involves Johor Bahru. The index case was detected on May 30. 31 screened, six positive.
  • Linggiu: a community cluster. It involves Kota Tinggi. The index case was detected on 21 May. 99 screened, 21 positive.
  • Parit Babok: a cluster linked to a religious activity. It involves Tangkak. The index case was detected on May 21. 54 screened, 37 positive.

Kelantan

  • Panchor: a workplace cluster linked to a service company. It involves Kota Bharu. The index case was detected on May 21. 92 screened, 22 positive.
  • Kampung Bukit Bidang: a community cluster. It involves Pasir Puteh. The index case was detected on May 28. 39 screened, 23 positive.
  • Kampung Paloh Chicha Tinggi: a community cluster. It involves Pasir Mas and Pasir Puteh. The index case was detected on May 24. 27 screened, 16 positive.
  • Lubok Kuin: a community cluster linked to visits during the festive season. It involves Bachok. The index case was detected on May 28. 57 screened, 17 positive.
  • Jalan Taman Sri Selising: an educational institution cluster. It involves Machang and Pasir Puteh. The index case was detected on May 26. 70 screened, six positive.
  • Kampung Menjual: an educational institution cluster. It involves Tumpat and Kota Bharu. The index case was detected on May 29. 57 screened, 30 positive.

Selangor

  • Batu Empat Kampung Jawa: a workplace cluster linked to a supermarket. It involves Klang. 300 screened, 25 positive.
  • Jalan Setia Perdana: a workplace cluster linked to a factory. It involves Klang. 49 screened, 37 positive.
  • Persiaran Bestari: a workplace cluster linked to a business premise. It involves Petaling. 69 screened, 25 positive.
  • Jalan Enggang: a workplace cluster linked to three factories. It involves Kuala Langat. 190 screened, 28 positive.

Terengganu

  • Indah Paka: a community cluster. It involves Dungun, Kemaman and Marang. The index case was detected on May 13. 296 screened, 55 positive.

Sarawak

  • Jalan Haji Lampam: a workplace cluster linked to an entertainment centre. It involves Miri. The index case was detected on May 12. 121 screened, 22 positive.
