The notice of order to close the premises in Taman Tampoi had viraled on social media since yesterday.
“The management has taken appropriate action and worked closely with the ministry to address this issue.
“It includes ordering all premises to be closed immediately as well as carrying out sanitation work periodically to ensure mutual well-being,” said the centre’s management in a statement uploaded on its official Facebook account.
The statement also said that B5 would only operate as usual starting next Monday (Dec 20).
Meanwhile, state health director Datuk Dr Aman Rabu informed that the closure was made to give room for preventive work to be carried out after positive Covid-19 cases were detected at the centre.
B5 which is the focus of tourists to enjoy various types of food while witnessing arts activities and buying handicraft products is located in the new Covid-19 case cluster area in Johor Baru, namely, the Jalan Tampoi cluster.
On Dec 7, the Angsana Johor Baru shopping mall located next to B5 was also instructed by the MoH to temporarily stop operations until today.
This is also a follow-up as there were premises inside the Angsana building which were identified as being frequented by close contacts of positive cases of Covid-19.
