Health DG: Three New Covid-19 Clusters Identified in Sabah, Klang Valley and Terengganu

PUTRAJAYA: Three new clusters have been identified in Sabah, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Terengganu.

Health director general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the Bukit Gemok cluster was detected in Tawau, Sabah, involving the index case (case 70,411) who tested positive on Dec 5 after showing symptoms.

“A total of 71 individuals were tested, and 10 tested positive for Covid-19,” he said in a statement on Saturday (Dec 12).

Meanwhile, Dr Noor Hisham said the Cendana construction site cluster was identifed in Lembah Pantai, Titiwangsa and Cheras.

“The initial positive cases were reported on Dec 10 from workplace screenings at the construction site. Until Dec 12, a total of 175 individuals were screened, where 10 foreigners and one local tested positive,” he said.

He added that the Dang Mutiara cluster was identified in Gombak, Selangor, as well as Dungun and Kemanan in Terengganu.

“The index case (case 75,588) tested positive on Dec 9, following an oil-rig sign-on screening and was admitted to the Sungai Buloh Hospital.Until Dec 12, a total of 102 individuals were screened and 10 positive cases were identified,” he said.
