Covid-19: Decision to Relax Conditional MCO to be Reviewed if Case Rate Goes Up

PUTRAJAYA: The government’s recent decision to relax the conditional movement control order (MCO) will be re-examined if the rate of Covid-19 cases goes up, the Health Ministry said.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the ministry’s current projection for the next two weeks is for new cases to be between 845 to 1,700 daily.

“We will monitor the daily Covid-19 cases in the next two weeks. If the daily cases are more or less what we have predicted, we can continue economic activities.

“However, if cases increase, we will have to rethink the relaxation or perhaps come up with other strategies, ” said Dr Noor Hisham at the ministry’s Covid-19 press briefing here on Wednesday (Dec 9).
