PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has detected two new Covid-19 clusters in the country over the last 24 hours.
In a statement today, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said they are known as the Seruling cluster in Selangor and the Darul construction site cluster involving Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Negeri Sembilan.
He said the Seruling cluster involved Klang, Hulu Selangor and Petaling in Selangor. The cluster was detected on Dec 4 after screenings at a workplace. A total of 2,267 people have been screened, with 109 testing positive.
Meanwhile, the Darul construction site cluster involved the Titiwangsa, Cheras and Lembah Pantai districts in Kuala Lumpur; Petaling, Sepang, Kuala Langat and Klang districts in Selangor; and Seremban in Negeri Sembilan.
The cluster was detected on Dec 6 after screenings at a construction site. A total of 240 people have been screened, with 14 testing positive.
The Teratai cluster recorded the most number of new cases today with 78, followed by the Batu Tujuh cluster (52) and Ria-30 cluster (33).
Noor Hisham said there are 185 active clusters in the country, with 41 of them recording new cases today.
Overall, the country has had 392 Covid-19 clusters, including the two new clusters today.
A total of 207 clusters have ended, including four that ended today, namely Melati, Kempas, Titir and Tempayan.
