2 New Covid-19 Clusters Detected in Selangor, KL

A total of 143 people in the Malawati cluster have been screened, with 14 testing positive.

PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has detected two new Covid-19 clusters in the country over the last 24 hours.

In a statement today, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said they are known as the Malawati cluster in Kuala Selangor, Selangor and the Bina Awan Lembah construction site cluster which involves Lembah Pantai and Titiwangsa, in Kuala Lumpur, and Klang, Selangor.

The Malawati case first involved an individual who was screened after exhibiting symptoms.

The patient was found to be positive on Nov 30.

A total of 143 people have been screened with 14 testing positive.

The Bina Awan Lembah construction site cluster first involved two individuals who tested positive after exhibiting symptoms and undergoing screening.

Both are workers at a construction site in Titiwangsa. A total of 441 people have been screened with 35 testing positive.

Noor Hisham said a total of 187 clusters are still active and being monitored.
