Covid-19 Swab Test for Red Zone Employees Not Compulsory

KUALA LUMPUR: It is not compulsory for employees living in red zones under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) to undergo Covid-19 swab tests but they are encouraged to do it as a precaution.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said foreign workers in the construction and security sectors, however, are required to undergo Covid-19 screening.

“Many people were confused and there were many queries over the work from home order that I announced yesterday. As I have mentioned in the announcement, details of the sectors involved would be released today.

“The International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) has also met representatives from industry associations that would explain the order to some 800,000 workers involved,” he said.
