732 New Covid-19 Cases Today, Sabah Still Highest with 535

KUALA LUMPUR: Recording a slight drop, there are 732 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today as compared to 862 yesterday.

Of the 732 cases, only eight were imported.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said a majority of the cases was from Sabah at 535, or 73.1 per cent from the daily total, followed by Selangor at 114.

Kuala Lumpur recorded 20 new cases, Penang (12), Negri Sembilan and Labuan at nine each, Kedah (7), Putrajaya (6), Melaka (3), Kelantan and Pahang both recorded one new case each.

Meanwhile, 580 more Covid-19 patients have recovered and discharged from hospitals increasing the number of recoveries to 14,931 or 65 per cent.

102 patients are being treated at intensive care units with 31 requiring breathing assistance.

Dr Noor Hisham said the death toll from the virus has risen to 199 with six more deaths reported to the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC), five of which were in Sabah and one in Labuan.

The deaths were reported at the Semporna Hospital; Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu; Duchess of Kent Hospital, Sandakan; and the Labuan Hospital.
