GEORGE TOWN: Penang is no longer a green zone after one positive Covid-19 case was detected here on Friday (Aug 7).
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said this brings the total number of cases to 122, and removing the status of green state held by Penang for the past 91 days.
“The state government urges all Penangites to remain calm and not spread any unauthentic information.
“In the meantime, we call on the people to continue to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) which includes physical distancing, putting on a face mask and washing hands with soap, ” he said in a statement.
The latest case is believed to be linked to the Sivagangga cluster in Kedah.
